GATES

There is a dedicated entry gate at the corner of Charters Towers Road and Boundary Street for ticketed patrons with disabilities, which provides the best access to the D1 disabled platform. For access to the D2 stand, the entry gate at Bigpond Hairpin 11 would be the best available option. All other gates provide good access.

Carers’ access

Carers with a Companion Card are entitled to concession priced ticketing and one accompanying carer per person will be entitled to access the disabled viewing platform.

Disabled amenities

There are wheelchair friendly amenities available immediately behind D1 and D3 and close to D2.

Track crossing DETAILS

There are dedicated times within the Schedule where racing will cease and patrons with disabilities will be able to cross the circuit to access the infield. The track crossings are located at Jupiters Townsville Bridge and Sucrogen Bridge.

Disabled parking

There are a number of allocated parking spots available at the following locations:

Adjacent to the Main Gate North on Flinders Street West

Charters Towers Road (near Officeworks)

First Street Townsville State High School

Drop off and pick up areas

With the exception of the Townsville State High School, the disability parking areas listed above also contain disability friendly drop off areas.

Allocated disabled viewing areas

There are two (2) disabled race viewing platforms:

D1 located near Turn 2

D2 located at Turn 12 between the S18 and S19 Grandstands

For the Saturday evening INXS concert there is a disabled viewing platform, D3.
(Please Note: Only one carer per patron with disability is permitted on the viewing platforms).

Lift access to Pit Building

For any corporate clients who have tickets in the Pit Building, there is a lift on the ground floor in the middle part of the building.
