10/07/ 2010 Day 2 - World Class Racing and World Class Rock

World-class racing met world-class rock on the streets of Townsville today at the second day of the Sucrogen Townsville 400.

On the track Team Vodafone won the thrilling 200km race around the Reid Park circuit and last night INXS won a huge applause from thousands of fans at the immensely popular after-race concert.

Eager fans flocked to the track early, lapping up the warm winter sunshine and many hours of racing with the Fujitsu V8 Supercars, V8 Utes, Mini Series and Formula Fords all racing for victory.

The V8 Supercar and Fujitsu V8 Supercar driver autograph sessions were a huge hit, as was the L&H Family Zone and the Showtime FMX Freestyle Motocross.
The massive crowds headed to the Hot Zone on sunset ready for the after-race concert featuring international rock legends INXS and up and coming Townsville band The Short List as the support act.

The Short List won a North Queensland-wide competition to support INXS and did a fine job warming up the crowd.

INXS later wowed the crowd with all their favourite international hits including Pretty Vegas, Suicide Blonde and Never Tear Us Apart.

The Greatest Show on Wheels continues in Townsville tomorrow with the second 200km race.
